The Academy of Chinese Studies in New Orleans is an independent, state-registered, non-profit civil society organization and a member of the National Association of Chinese Schools. The National Association of Chinese Schools currently has more than 400 member schools. The Academy of Chinese Studies in New Orleans is committed to continuously improving the quality of teaching and better serving the community by strengthening the exchange with Chinese schools around the world that promotes teaching and learning of Chinese language and culture.
Since the establishment of the Academy in 1977, we have actively organized and participated in various public service activities in the community. These activities facilitate the next generation of Chinese Americans to build self-confidence and develop their sense of identity with their own unique cultural background in the process of integrating into the society. We will continue to promote close ties with the local communities and play our role as a bridge for cultural exchanges between the Chinese American community and other local communities.
Over the years, our school has also established a partnership with Tulane University. The Academy provides Tulane students with internships on topics ranging from community development research to opportunities to participate in classroom teaching. We also help the college students to plan their study abroad in China and send experienced teachers to teach Chinese folklore courses to the college students. Tulane University has provided important assistance to us as well and has generously promoted our school and helped deepen the bond and cooperation between the two institutes.
We are sincerely grateful to the community for your generous and strong support to the Academy for more than 40 years! Let’s work together and move forward for a bright future of the community, for a bright future of the school, and for a bright future of the children!
